Setting the stage: Selkies can communicate telepathically. Forced indoors by the hurricane, Alex tests Jenna.  Is she influenced by his thoughts?

Throwing sense to the wind, Alex drew a ragged breath and sent her his thought. I feel your eyes burning me, Jenna. Go on love, set me aflame.  

He felt her mind respond. She was imagining them kissing and wondering what he’d say if she tried to kiss him. Madness seized him and before he could stop himself, his mind answered. I’d die a happy man with the taste of your kiss upon me.

He heard the gasp and her silent words, How is he doing that?
