@MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors

It's My Sexy Saturday! Participating authors post 7 paragraphs, 7 sentences, or 7 words. This time it's 7 paragraphs from Enchanted Skye ~A tale about an American on the run named Jenna who unwittingly unleashes an ancient charm and traps a Selkie unawares.

Setting the Stage:
In a calculation gone awry, Jenna is outside as the hurricane inches toward landfall. Luckily Alex found her.

My Seven:
Alex’s keen Selkie hearing picked up a faint cry. Stumbling, he ran toward it with the horizontal wind buffeting him from the side.
He found Jenna on her knees, struggling to stand, and gathered her into his arms. She wrapped around him as he helped her to her feet. Both tried to speak but their words blew away on the wind. It took everything he had, but he got them safely to the MacNeal house.
He groped the lintel for the key, found it, then opened the door and shoved her inside. Putting all of his weight against the wind, he closed the door behind them.
Jenna was bone weary, half-frozen, and soaked to the skin. Her chattering teeth bit her words. “Oh m-my god, am I glad t-to be out of—”
“Ye could have died out there!” His accumulated fear for her getting the better of him, he’d spun around and grabbed her by the upper arms. Shaking her lightly, he admonished,  “What the hell were ye thinkin’ goin’ out in that?
She tried to twist away from his grasp but too much energy had gone to fighting the storm.
Alex recognized the fiery outrage growing in her eyes. It was the same look he’d seen the night when they were locked in his room. He dropped his hands and said, “Forgive me. Jesus Jenna, I was scared for you.”

@MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors

It's My Sexy Saturday! Participating authors post 7 paragraphs, 7 sentences, or 7 words. The theme this week is Are You Sexy and I know a Selkie who is!

I give you seven paragraphs from Enchanted Skye ~A tale about a family of Scottish Selkie and an American on the run named Jenna who unwittingly unleashes an ancient charm and traps one of the Selkie brothers unawares.

Setting the Stage:
Jenna's emotionally frazzled day gets worse when she accidentally gets locked in Alex's room. Needless to say, their first meeting doesn't go well. When the scotch comes out her fragile facade crumbles. Alex offers a strong shoulder to cry on, and the  anger she's transferred on to him up to this point disappears. Alex has no idea this fierce desire of his is compounded by the charm.

My Seven:
His animal senses sharp, he could smell her now, a heady note of desire in the sensorial symphony of sea spray, scotch, peat, and soap. Though a tremor of desire fumbled his hands over the zipper, he knew he’d rip the clothes from his body just to have her. He finally managed to drop his jeans and his tenting boxers were quickly discarded with the rest. When his full length sprang free of its confines, her knee momentarily paused. Standing before her with a blazing hard-on, his breath froze at the look in her eyes.

Jenna watched him strip his clothing. Sultry slurred words hurried him along. “You have a very …nice…” Her words trailed off. She licked her lips.

His mind extrapolated the rest he wanted to hear. “I’m glad ye think so, love.” He was driven. Never in his life did he want a woman as badly as he wanted her.

He held himself. Words husky with desire, he whispered in awe, “I ache for ye, Jenna. I ache like I never have.”
Kneeling at the end of the bed, he kissed the top of her foot. Her knee once more swung to and fro. Seeing invitation in that sensual display, he kissed up the length of her leg, murmuring heated declarations of desire between kisses. Though a part of him was keenly aware they didn’t know one another, another part of him was certain he’d known her soul forever. “I can hardly control this hunger for ye. Will ye allow me to love you, Jenna?”

“Hunger?” she asked breathlessly, as though his words weren’t fully registering. Again the knee stopped, this time falling wide.

“Aye, hunger. I’ve thought of nothing else since I first set my eyes upon ye.” Ascending now, he kissed the place above her knee, relishing the heat of her on his lips. Kissing her smooth inner thigh, he murmured against her flesh, “Will ye allow this starving man—” he kissed the velvet between, “—to bring ye pleasure?” He kissed again firmly this time. Tasting how ready she was on his lips, he licked them before asking, “Please say yes, Jenna. Please.” When she didn’t answer, he raised his head and blinked in stunned disbelief. Jenna MacLeod was out cold.

The moment popping like a soap bubble, Alex broke into a hearty laugh and rose. His arousal quickly faded but not his desire, and it left him with an odd ache in his chest. Drinking in the tousled beauty on his bed, he told her regretfully. “Ah, my love, I warned ye the scotch was too strong.”

A thought took him then and he frowned. He hoped it wasn’t the scotch that made her want his lovemaking. He’d hate to see the sharp-tongued witch return.

Paranormal Love Wednesdays! #MFRWauthor

It's Wednesday and I'm participating in Paranormal Love Wednesdays. Link to participants. Today, I'm offering a small sampling from Today I'm offering a bit from Enchanted Skye ~ a story woven around a secret identity, an ancient and potentially deadly charm, and unforgettable sexy Selkie siblings based on a real family that claims Selkie ancestry.

Setting the Stage~

Selkies communicate telepathically. Forced indoors by the hurricane, Alex inadvertently tests Jenna. Is she influenced by his thoughts?

My Snippet~

Throwing sense to the wind, Alex drew a ragged breath and sent her his thought. I feel your eyes burning me, Jenna, go on love, set me aflame. He felt her mind respond. She was imagining them kissing and wondering what he’d say if she tried to kiss him. Madness seized him and before he could stop himself, his mind answered. I’d die a happy man with the taste of your kiss upon me.

Hearing the gasp, he closed the stove front and waited on his knees, his pulse thudding loudly in his ears.

How is he doing that?

Sexy Snippets

It's Sunday and time for Sexy Snippets. Participants post just seven sentences to capture the imagination. Today I'm offering a small sampling from Enchanted Skye ~ a contemporary Celtic tale with an ancient charm, a woman in hiding, and a very sexy Selkie.

Setting the Stage~
Alex feels odd and for good reason. When this stranger's tear drops fell into the sea they unleashed a potentially deadly charm upon him.

My Seven~
He didn’t recognize this young woman on the land but watched her kneel before the pool. Her sable hair covered her face as she keened and for some reason he felt compelled to go to her side. He slid into the water and the closer he drew, the stranger he felt. Only feet from her now, he blinked the saltwater from his eyes and watched her. The wind whipped at her hair and the sea mist clung to her clothing as she hugged an urn tightly to her chest. He knew what he was seeing then -- they’d scattered ashes on the water. Who was she to Angus MacLeod?

Sexy Snippets

It's Sunday and time for Sexy Snippets. Participants post just seven sentences to capture the imagination. Today I'm offering a small sampling from Enchanted Skye ~A tale about a family of Scottish Selkie and an American on the run named Jenna who unwittingly unleashes an ancient charm that traps a Selkie unawares.

Setting the Stage~
Sent straightaway to take a hot bath after a severe storm mires her car and forces her to walk to the MacCodrum Inn, Jenna's day gets worse.
The cupboard door is stuck so all she has are hand towels to dry off with. And now she can't remember what room she's in. Just as she's about to make a bare dash down the hall, she hears voices coming up the stairs. She ducks into Alex's room. Neither know the charm is underway.

My Seven:
Jenna gasped. Oh no! Ducking into the nearest room, she quickly closed the door behind her and pressed her ear to the wood and listened.

~*~

Startled, Alex spun around. A woman had just barged into his room and slammed the door closed as if she’d been chased inside. That was something all unto itself, but she also held a small towel to the front of her body, leaving the back exquisitely bare. He suddenly felt odd, the same odd feeling he’d felt at the lighthouse earlier that day.

It's My Sexy Saturday! Participating authors post 7 paragraphs, 7 sentences, or 7 words. The theme this week is My Sexy Date. Paranormal Love Wednesdays!

It's Wednesday and I'm participating in Paranormal Love Wednesdays. This is a new mini blog hop for me and it looks like fun. Link to participants. Today, I'm offering a small sampling from Enchanted Skye. A contemporary Celtic tale with an ancient charm, a woman in hiding, and a very sexy Selkie.

Setting the Stage~ Alex feels odd and for good reason. When this stranger's tear drops fell into the sea they unleashed a potentially deadly charm upon him.

He watched with mild interest from the rocks, but when Angus and the reverend walked back to the house, his interest got the better of him. He scooted a little closer and lifted his head to get a better view. He knew what he was seeing then. They’d scattered ashes on the water. He considered her. Who was this woman to Angus MacLeod?

The woman must have felt his presence for she looked up from her grief. Meeting his eyes, she looked startled to see him so close. She rose slowly and backed away. His heart ached to watch her go and he found the feeling both perplexing and extraordinary. Then and there, he knew he had to meet her. Taking a breath, he plunged under the water and swam to the far side of the cliff where the sea cave sat undetected. On dry land now, inside the dark chamber, he peeled away his waterskin. And where flippers were a moment before, a man’s arms and legs appeared. Shaking out his spotted skin with a snap, he rolled it into a tight bundle and headed toward the passage.

The limestone tunnel itself was ancient, dug by his ancestors at a time when the zealous went in search of blood, and beings like him were hunted to near extinction. The tunnel led from the sea to his family’s other home and his other life as Alexander MacCodrum. He put a hand to a hidden door, one of several in the mansion, and it made a dry scraping sound as he pulled it open. Giving the back of the bookcase a shove, the weighted mechanism swung wide to reveal a bright sunny library.

A woman’s voice came from the floor by the hearth, “Och, Alex you scared me! Come in, you’re scattering the ash with that draft.” Like that of her brothers, Bea’s Scottish burr tended to get thicker with emotion. With a soot-smudged nose and long black hair tied up in a kerchief, Beatrix MacCodrum sat back on her heels and looked him over from head to toe. He’d strategically repositioned the waterskin the instant he heard her shriek. Other than that, he wore nothing but his smile.
