Here's the scoop: Participating authors will post 7 paragraphs, 7 sentences, or 7 words. For me, this time it's 7 sentences from
Dreamscape. Written in homage to Agatha Christie, Dreamscape is a haunting, a murder, a thriller, a mystery, a time travel of sorts, and a love story that transcends time. Above all, this sensual tale is a reader's Easter egg hunt in the truest sense. Not everything is as it appears. Peppered throughout are little clues suggesting a story running behind the scenes. Finding them isn't necessary to the telling of the tale, just one of the fun twists I like to insert into my writing. Can you find them all before the story ends? But more importantly, can a ghost find love among the living?
Setting the Stage:
Jason has no idea how he was murdered. But the night he discovered he could ride Lanie's dreams, he found himself in his own time. At this point, he'd deep in thought over what he's been learning each time her dreams take him back to the life he once lived.
I give you 7 sentences:
Through her dreams he could venture back to his time and solve this riddle. He came aware. My god, Lanie. Lost in thought, he hadn’t seen her for who knew how long. An instant later he materialized in their bedroom to find her just leaving her bath. Coming upon the stunning sight left him thunderstruck. Glistening beads of water sparkled all over her body, and her wet hair, obviously just fluffed with her towel, hung in thick, ebony ringlets.
Completely missing the fact he wasn’t invisible, he whispered in awe, “If I had breath, you’d take it away.”
Here's the story
"The whole book is like a dream itself. The reader flows almost seamlessly from dreams to happenings in the present day. You become part of the dream. " "The ending was a pleasant surprise for me." "This is a very clever story with a dream hero who will make you believe in ghosts and in the power of the mind."

ReplyDeleteI love the last line of your seven sentences, Rose. Well, I loved all the sentences, but that one struck a cord. :-)
