Here's the scoop: Participating authors will post 7 paragraphs, 7 sentences, or 7 words. For me, this time it's 7more from my newest ~ Enchanted Skye.



Setting the Stage:
Under the influence of the charm, Alex has lost his good sense and succumbs to an irresistible siren's call. It doesn't help that Jenna is under an influence of her own in the form of very potent scotch. What will happen next?

My 7:
His animal senses sharp, he could smell her now, a heady note of desire in the sensorial symphony of sea spray, scotch, peat, and soap. Though a tremor of desire fumbled his hands over the zipper, he knew he’d rip the clothes from his body just to have her. He finally managed to drop his jeans and his tenting boxers were quickly discarded with the rest. When his full length sprang free of its confines, her knee momentarily paused. Standing before with a blazing hard-on, his breath froze at the look in her eyes.
 
Jenna watched him strip his clothing. Sultry slurred words hurried him along.

Here's the scoop: Participating authors will post 7 paragraphs, 7 sentences, or 7 words. For me, this time it's 7 sentences from my soon-to-be-released Enchanted Skye. 

 

Blurb:
Alexander MacCodrum belongs to a race of shape-shifting sea creatures living on Scotland’s Isle of Skye. When Jenna MacLeod unknowingly adds seven tears to the salt of the sea, she accidentally unleashes an ancient charm that catches the transformed Selkie unawares. Under this binding spell, Alex must win Jenna's heart, or the pain of unrequited love will drive him to take his own life. Unfortunately for Alex, Jenna hasn’t come to Skye looking for love and it will take the force of a hurricane to bring them together. But worse, Jenna’s violent ex-boyfriend has found her at last and Carl has made it perfectly clear – if he can’t have her, no one can.

Setting the Stage:
The tension with Alex grows while Jenna waits for the MacCodrum brothers to bring her car back to the house. They both got off to a very bad start when a comedy of errors locked them in his bedroom for the night. The foggy recollections of the night before leave Jenna uncomfortable and silent, but that doesn't stop her from finding him attractive. Suddenly, Alex feels something that completely takes him by surprise.



I give you 7: 
Struck suddenly by a rather sexually appraising thought projected from her mind, he nearly dropped the cup and saucer. This isn’t possible. Surely his want for her was playing tricks on him. Only his kind could communicate this way and Jenna Macleod was no Selkie. Transformed Selkies had no voice by human standards, but they could speak to one another telepathically in both forms. The thought stopped him. Could she have Selkie or Roan blood?

Setting the Stage:
When Alex learns Jenna is on her way to the lighthouse to visit her uncle, he decides to arrange a "chance encounter". He hurries to the sea cave, puts on his waterskin, and shifts into his Selkie form. Climbing on the rocks to get a better view of her car drawing near, he meets his older brother there. Lachlan's reason for being there is to keep an eye upon Alex. If Jenna doesn't return Alex's affection soon, the charm will spur his brother to kill himself.


I give you 7:
Hey yer blocking my sun. Surprised, Alex turned to find his elder brother sunning on the rocks just below.

With no voice by human standards, the brothers spoke telepathically. Alex asked, So why are ye here Lachlan?

I felt like a swim.

Alex eyed him skeptically. Is that so? A swim ye say? I don’t know if you’ve noticed yet brother, but you’re dry.

Lachlan laughed, the harsh sound not unlike that of a loud barking dog with a smoker’s cough. He was there for one reason – to be sure Jenna was still friendly toward their brother, for as Bea said, a loving relationship could start on friendly terms. The alternative was too painful to consider. A terrible strain existed between Alex and Jenna just days ago, and though they’d a slight improvement since the evening of music at the Spùinneadair-mara, they weren’t taking any chances. He said, Well maybe I wanted to see where my little brother was headed like a bat out of hell. Following Alex’s gaze, he caught sight of Jenna’s car in the distance. Ah, now I see.

Climbing onto higher rocks for a better view, Alex watched Jenna’s car make the bend where she nearly fell to her death. The road was safer coming than going. He poked his snout in her direction. It’s crazy because we’ve only just met. But Lachlan, I think I’m in love with that woman. 

 I can tell ye are, Alex, we all can.

Setting the Stage:

The fear of Carl finding her, the grief of scattering her grandmother's ashes, and frustration at being locked in this room with an obnoxious stranger, lead Jenna to down a too-large glass of scotch. Overcome with tears, she finds the stranger a comfort after all. To both their surprise, one moment leads to another. For Alex, it's the enchantment talking. For Jenna, it's the scotch. Or is it?

My snippet:

Words husky with desire, he whispered in awe, “I ache for ye, woman. I ache like I never have.”

Kneeling at the end of the bed, he kissed the top of her foot. Her knee once more swung to and fro. Seeing invitation in that sensual display, he kissed up the length of her leg, murmuring heated declarations of desire between kisses. Though a part of him was keenly aware they didn’t know one another, another part of him was certain he’d known her soul forever. “I can hardly control this hunger for ye. Will ye allow me to love you, Jenna?”

Setting the Stage:
It's been a terrible day. Jenna scattered her grandmother's ashes and the car broke down on the way to the Bed and Breakfast leaving her no choice but to walk through an icy April rain. Now, temporarily forgotten by the innkeeper, Jenna ventures into the hall wearing nothing but a hand towel and not remembering which of the many rooms is hers. Half way down the hall, she hears voices coming up the stairs. Ducking in the nearest room, she finds it occupied by Alex. In a comedy of errors, she finds she's locked in there for the night. Alex's siblings are on the other side of the door and they find it all quite humorous. Jenna doesn't see the humor.

I give you 7 sentences:
Furious, she turned to the smiling man. “They’re laughing! Those rude…they’re no doubt friends of yours!”

He raised a brow at her. “Love, it was you who came into my room and helped yourself to my shirt. And it was you who broke my door, and you who are currently giving me hell for your mistake. Perhaps you’re confused about what constitutes ill manners.”
